Fast Assembly
The mounting frames are delivered pre-assembled, ensuring a fast and hassle-free installation. On the roof, the upper sections are lifted into a triangular position and secured with the included bolt and nut set. Each frame features a standard 15° tilt angle and predefined mounting points for solar panel brackets. The base of the frame is equipped with a butyl or rubber mat (8‒15 mm) to protect the roof surface and allow properwater drainage.
Easy & Secure Installation ‒ Pre-cut mounting slots enable quick and hassle-free assembly, secured with SS03 screws for maximum stability.
Wind Load Calculator
The Wind Load Calculator is an essential tool for the integration of Moisolar NORDIC FLAT S15L solar panel mounting system, designed to ensure optimal safety and efficiency. In regions subjected to varying and sometimes extreme wind conditions, the stability of solar installations is paramount. Our calculator precisely determines the necessary ballast for each mounting system, taking into account local wind profiles, panel orientation, and roof characteristics. By leveraging advanced algorithms and real-world data, it provides tailored solutions that guarantee the structural integrity of solar installations. Contact us to learn more about the calculators.
Versatile Mounting options
Moisolar Nordic Flat S15L can be mounted on flat roofs using different methods, chosen based on site-specific requirements. Wind and weight calculations, along with the characteristics of the roofing material, determine the optimal solution. Often, the most reliable and long-lasting option is a combination of bitumen welding and ballast weights, ensuring both durability and safety.
Method 1 - Bitumen Welding for Flat Roofs
This method is ideal for installations where reducing ballast weight is necessary or more load sharing area against roof is needed. Excellent solution for locations with high wind loads, where ballast amount will increase too much.
- FP01 – Base plate
- FS02 – Bolt-nut set
- FM01 – 700 x 700 mm bitumen patch
Method 2 - Ballast Weights
The windshield tray accommodates ballast plates up to 50 mm thick, with a recommended side length of 200 mm (max 300 mm). Bitumen welding and ballast weights can also be used together for enhanced stability. The triangular frame can hold 4 pieces of 300×300×50 mm ballast weights for additional support.
Method 3 - Cold Adhesion with Rubber Feet
Roof-friendly solution when used with ballast weights. Allows free water drainage under the mounting system. Reduces slippage risk while the flexible structure absorbs forces from wind and thermal expansion.
- RS23 – Rubber Feet
Method 4 - Cold Adhesion with Adhesive Steel Plate
Adhesion applied after installation, can be used as an extension kit replacement or inside the triangular frame. No pre-measuring required for installation and no hot work permits needed. Allows system elevation up to 65 mm from the roof, positioning the panel’s lower edge 105 mm above the roof surface.
Adjustable Leg - Solution for Uneven Roof Surfaces
Flat roofs often have slopes, drains, edge areas, or other local height variations that can pose significant challenges for system installation. The adjustable leg (FT11 and/or FT12) ensures that the base rail is properly supported in areas where it would otherwise be suspended, reducing the risk of structural strain on the mounting system and preventing potential damage to the roof.
✔ Stabilizes uneven areas where the base rail lacks direct support
✔ Compatible with the universal wedge piece for precise vertical alignment in complex locations
✔ Can be used selectively to level and elevate the system as needed
Snow Support - Essential for Long-Term Panel Durability
Lower Support
Adjustable height (35 mm – 75 mm) for optimal fit. Prevents micro-bending of the panel, ensuring long-term structural integrity.
- CL02 – End Clamp
- FK01 – Wedge
Upper Support
Adjustable height (300 mm – 400 mm) for precise positioning. Provides central reinforcement for the upper edge of the panel.
- FK12 – Upper support adjustment piece & FT11 – Base
- SS03 – 4 self-drilling screws & CL02 – End clamp
ALL PRODUCTS in the Nordic Flat S15L series
Flat Roof Fixture & Connector
The material of the flat roof fixture is carbon steel, which has been specially coated using the JISCO® method. In the JISCO® hot-dip galvanizing method, the steel plate is coated with a zinc-aluminum-magnesium mixture. The alloy guarantees particularly strong corrosion resistance, which is up to 3 times better than galvanized steel.
Windshields
Moisolar has conducted thorough wind tunnel tests in Germany to accurately measure wind loads, using simulations to mimic real-world conditions. This data enables us to refine our designs for unmatched stability and durability. With insights from these tests, we’ve innovatively designed the Nordic Flat® series to withstand high winds using minimal ballast, ensuring optimal performance in challenging environments.
Windshields are available for different panel dimensions:
- FW01 ‒ With ballast tray (for 1720‒1765 mm panels)
- FW1734 ‒ Without ballast tray (for 1720‒1765 mm panels)
- FW1800 ‒ Without ballast tray (for 1720‒1800 mm panels)
- FW1910 ‒ Without ballast tray (for 1800‒1910 mm panels)
Wedge & Clamps
We have innovatively engineered the wedge component, enhancing the support system for solar panels. Utilizing the wedge iron, solar panels are now supported centrally, significantly extending their resilience under snow loads. For optimal performance, it is advised to position the base plate (FP01) beneath the wedge, ensuring a robust and reliable foundation.
Moisolar clamps are coated with electrophoresis method to provide durable coating. Clamps are equipped with special features to make installation process easier. The spring between the body and anchor-wedge keeps the clamp up, so it is easy to slide the panel under it. Middle clamp body has stoppers to hold the anchor-wedge from falling out in case if the bolt is opened too much. All the clamps have grounding pins.
Base plate & Tilting parts
The base plate helps to distribute the weight of the system on the roof. The plate is glued to the felt roof and the bolt-nut set (FS02) is used to attach the legs of the flat roof bracket, which helps keep the installation firmly on the surface of the roof.
With the help of the tilting support, you can compensate for the sloping angles of the flat roof.
